Chris Freimund: development director
Project Manager, Spanish Translator Specialist
Chris is a project developer with a passion for water conservation and community development. His career has focused on the connection between social and environmental well-being, working on projects that include transboundary watershed management, flooding and public risk perception, climate change adaptation, education and health promotion, and environmental conservation and restoration. Chris holds a master’s degree in Natural Resources from the University of Arizona’s School of Natural Resources and the Environment. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala from 2015-2017, working on community and environmental health projects. Chris completed his bachelor’s in Spanish, minoring in International Development from the University of Montana in 2011. Chris joined Watershed Progressive in the Spring of 2021, where his work continues to focus on building collaborative efforts and programs to improve climate resilience and community well-being. When not at work, you can usually find Chris seeking refuge in the mountains with his family and two dogs or enjoying a book by a river.
