andrew jezak: water resources engineer
Andrew aids in construction document drafting, geographic information systems (GIS) analysis, and graphic design for outreach. He found Watershed Progressive while doing research for his senior design thesis on Greywater-Supplied Hydroponics while studying for his Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering from Santa Clara University in 2020. Searching for a field in Sustainable Water Resources Design + Build, he found a supportive family of peers and mentors with Watershed Progressive.
Andrew intends his career to have a direct impact in preserving the natural world and its processes. In his own words: “Water can literally move mountains, making it such a powerful medium to create lasting change. It is how we as communities responsibly utilize and maintain water as a natural resource that will determine how resilient our future is in the face of the climate crisis.”
Previously, Andrew worked in construction management and as a residential apprentice carpenter. On the side, Andrew runs his own woodworking business and enjoys fly fishing, hiking, backpacking, skiing, and photography. He is from Kansas City, Kansas.
